Genesis 3:7-13
Nakedness without shame is no longer the norm

Exposure leads to shame leads to fear leads to hiding

Our natural pattern is to hide from one another and from God.
- God keeps pursuing you despite you mess up
- fear is the basis of our hiding

Blameshifting is our native tongue
- we minimize our role in sin in order to hide – protection for myself
- Eve follows Adam’s bad example

Genesis 3:14-24
God’s curse on maleness/femaleness

Serpent
- enmity between serpent and woman
- enmity – “enemy” some kind of battle between women and Satan – they reflect the beauty of God and Satan is jealous of her beauty
- men need to be aware of that battle and pray for the women in our lives
- Satan targets her kids as well

Women
- pain in child bearing
– bringing forth life is a painful process from birth through life – emotionally etc.
- desire will be for husband-he will rule over her
– desire means “to control”
– rule – “dominance and control”
– this is not God’s intended way

Adam
- listen means “you did not take iniative”
- men listen to God first not any one else
- life will not be easy anymore-thorns and thistles
- life hurts and life is hard because of the fall
- God did this so we would see our need for Him

God then banished them from the garden – we constantly long to return to that perfect state
- keep them from tree of life and not experience life forever seperated from God

God has rigged the world to not work the way we desire it to.
