The passion behind Reconnect Ministries comes from a desire to do what Jesus commanded all of us to do.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. – Matthew 28:18-20
We want to see people connect and, in some cases, re-connect their lives to the God who loves them and wants to bless them. We believe that God deeply desires to have a strong and constantly growing relationship with his creation (us). This type of relationship starts with a choice, and that choice is ours. Will we choose to follow our Creator and Father God or will we do what we think is best?
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. – Revelation 3:15-16
In Revelation 3, John is writing on behalf of Jesus to the Laodicean church. This was a church of “lukewarm” or squishy Christians. Jesus encourages them to make a decision to open the door and eat with Him. When you come in and eat, it’s the first century way of saying, “Let’s re-connect! I miss hanging out with you.”
Jesus wants us to make a decision. Either we are going to fully commit to following God with all our heart or we aren’t. Both Christians and Non-Christians need to make this decision. Jesus is not looking for followers that only look the part. He wants on-fire, committed, followers.
We long to see people who need God come to know who He is and what He has done for them. We also have a deep desire to see those who are stagnant or drifting away from God, rekindle their relationship with Him.
Through Reconnect Ministries, it is our desire to connect people to God and help others do the same. Whether we’re on the front lines or coming along side a church or ministry, our ultimate desire is to move the Kingdom forward according the His will. We seek to do this by utilizing the gifts and skills God has blessed us with.
