“I’m just so tired.”
I’ve heard that from so many people. It’s not the kind of tired you feel after a long day of work. This is an oppressive tiredness that won’t seem to go away.
Are you feeling this way?
I know I am. Last night, I came across this article on the Charisma Magazine web site and the author, Cindy Jacobs, put it this way:
I awakened the other morning with a Spanish word that I wasn’t quite sure what it meant, “basta.” It means enough, fed up, I’ve had all I’m going to take.
I felt from the Holy Spirit, as I was praying, that there was this spirit of weariness that is coming on people. It’s actually demonic. It’s saying, you’re never going to get ahead. It makes you tired emotionally. The Bible says in Daniel 7:25 that he’s going to persecute—or Satan will persecute— or wear out the saints. I felt that this was like a wearying spirit.
Some of you are going to relate to this. You just feel so tired all the time, you feel, and it’s not a natural tiredness. It’s a soul-tiredness, where you just feel like you can’t get up, you can’t move, you can’t do anything, and I literally heard the Holy Spirit say, “Basta!”
“Fed up, get up,” to the powers of darkness around you. The Lord would say, “You cannot let yourself go down in your destiny due to the weariness of the battle. You cannot let yourself be robbed of the blessings I have for you because you are too tired to fight anymore.”
The other day I was listening to a radio program and they played the audio of another caller on another radio station… Listen to this clip, Listen to his voice… The desperation, The weariness, this is the spirit of weariness that I believe Cindy Jacobs was referring to…
Do you hear it in his voice? I think this caller represents what is a growing trend that Cindy encapsaltes well in her article.
So why all the depressing talk about a spirit of weariness? Because I believe we just need to have our spirits lifted today. We need two things… Joy and Hope and that is what the two songs in the Lyric Lounge today represent.
First, Let’s focus on Joy
This first song is by Zach Williams and, honestly, it just makes me smile. It is just a fun song about those wonderful, Old Church Choirs… The video shows a bunch of people singing along and just experiencing joy in the midst of the music…
Now, Let’s Focus on Hope
There is nothing more hopeful than hearing a song about our future home in Heaven. The second song is from Chris Tomlin and its called “Home.” We all long for our eternal home and everything it brings…
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
– Revelation 21:3-4
Listen and experience the hope that can only be found in anticipating our true home…
