God is always with us and sometimes it is obvious and other times it is not as obvious. This was the subject of a conversation that I had the other day with some family members as we discussed the details of all that has happened this week.

A couple nights ago my grandmother passed away and it has been interesting to see how God has coordinated things so that we could be able to support the family during this time.

Many times, I have seen God move. Every time I am amazed. But what else would a loving God do for his children. What else would an awesome, holy, Creator do with his creation. God is in control. He guides us with his Holy Spirit and directs the destiny of this planet we live on.

I will bless the LORD who guides me;
even at night my heart instructs me.

I know the LORD is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. Psalm 16:7-8

How can we understand the road we travel? It is the LORD who directs our steps. – Proverbs 20:24

Some would say that what I experienced or heard about the last couple days happened by chance but I know that God is the one who, if we allow him, directs our paths. Even the little things that happen in our lives are under His control and nothing happens that catches Him by surprise.

Following Him and the path that He lays out for us is our choice and many times leads to blessings. Sometimes the path to get to those blessings is rough and feels more like suffering but in the end God works all things out for the blessing of those who follow his purposes (Romans 8:28).

When we choose to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God can use us in mighty ways to touch lives. I have experienced that this week.

Although sometimes following that guidance can lead to having to make sacrifices – and I have done that as well this week. But through all the ups and downs that this past week has brought, one thing remains the same – God is still in control and God still guides me – assuming I follow his directions.

In the end I am confident that I am following in God’s path for my life and I would encourage you to do that same because when you do cool things happen and you are blessed and God is Glorified!
