John 3:16 is more than a poster that hangs in-between the goal posts at a football came. It is one of the most power descriptions of what God has done for us. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”

Jesus, the Son of God, came down to Earth. He became man but yet lived a perfect, holy, Godly life. That alone is an incredible sacrifice. A Creator lowering Himself to the level of that which He created in order to save them. The fact that He graced us with His presence should cause us to fall on our face and worship Him.

But that is not all He did! He came, He lived, and He Died and He Rose again! He spent 33 years living with us, experiencing what we experience, growing as we grow. He taught us about life. He taught us about love. He pointed us to God. Then He took our place in sin’s awful penalty.

The God who is greater than all that has ever existed and is in control of all that happens in His creation, took my place. He took my place, how can I even think of giving Him less than my best? He died the death and suffered the seperation that I deserved for eternity.

Because of His sacrifice, I, a sinner saved by grace, can come into the presence of a holy and just God who demands a sacrifice for my sin (Rom. 6:23). Christ, stands in my place and presents me as clean, holy, and prepared to meet my maker. He can do the same for you, if you just believe. He is looking for those who choose Him. He gives us the ability to choose or reject him. What will you do?

That is the most amazing that God has done for me! Someone who is willing to take my place and suffer an awful penalty just to be with me. It is the greatest act of love anyone can give.
